Please help with correcting French sentences!

Hello there fellow Duolingo users! I was wondering if you would be willing to help me correct these three translations that I made. I acknowledge that some of them are probably not so good, but I make these posts to learn from my mistakes. Please know that your help is greatly appreciated and your corrections are taken to heart! Thank you very much and have a good one!

Sentence in English: I adopted a dog that I didn't know had diabetes

Attempt at translating into French: J'ai adopté un chien qui, je ne savais pas, avait le diabète

Sentence in English: He made some decisions that he hoped would resolve the problem he had created

Attempt at translating into French: Il a pris des décisions qui, il espérait, résoudraient le problème qu'il avait créé

Sentence in English: I met a man who I didn't know was a writer

Attempt at translating into French: J'ai rencontré un homme que je ne savais pas était écrivain

Thanks so much for your responses. It would also be helpful if, along with your corrections, you could add alternatives versions of the sentence too. Bye and have a good one! :) <3

I'm not sure about what you want. For me, the two first sentences are correct. The last one, I would say : "J'ai rencontré un homme qui, je ne savais pas, était écrivain." Or : "J'ai rencontré un homme que je ne savais pas être écrivain."

PS : I am a French native speaker (but not fluent in English).

Here is my version, although a bit different from the original:

I adopted a dog that I didn't know had diabetes - J'ai adopté un chien, mais je ne savais pas qu'il avait le diabète

He made some decisions that he hoped would resolve the problem he had created - Il a pris des décisions qu'il espérait résoudra le problème qu'il avait créé

I met a man who I didn't know was a writer - Je rencontrai un homme et je ne savais pas qu'il était un écrivain

Eh... Those are good translations, but they kind of feel like work arounds or excuses that somebody would use when they did not know the actual sentence structure, but I made this post to learn some new things about French sentence structure that I didn't know. So, I will await more responses, but good work! However, I find your translation for the second one a little odd for some reason. I will give an example of a sentence I wrote a while ago to help; "toute l'année, il a travaillé à une invention qui, il espérait, changerait le monde une fois qu'elle serait achevée" not "toute l'année, il a travaillé à une invention qu'il espérait changerait le monde une fois qu'elle serait achevée". Here is another example;

"J'ai acheté un chat qui, j'avais présumé, pourrait tuer des souris, mais tout ce qu'elle aimait faire était de dormir" not "J'ai acheté un chat que j'avais présumé pourrait tuer des souris, mais tout ce qu'elle aimait faire était de dormir".

Anyways, I thought that that kind of sentence structure especially made sense with the second translation, at least I hope so, because otherwise it would negate what I have learned, and that would be such a pain. What do you think? Thx m8!

Sorry, I am not quite fluent in French. The sentences I provided were in fact easier translations of the ones you asked for. I just assumed (mistakenly) you were a beginner. So, I guess you better wait for a reply from a native speaker.

I would love to know an opinion of a native speaker about "qui ,il esperait," vs "qu'il esperait" though. So following the discussion

In speech, "qui, il espérait" would sound ugly.

We would instead use an inversion to avoid the vowel conflict, like: "qui, espérait-il"
