Help with Translation

So, can someone help me to translate the sentences below into English ?And, please, I don't want word for word translations or from Google translator. It can be informal.

Thanks,

And when I brought it up she flew off the handle, saying I was insulting her family.

I'm my own man, but mom got me hooked on breastfeed only.

Dode, you need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Pelo amor de Deus, dá pra parar de choramingar e ligar pra ela?
For crying out loud, could you just get over yourself and call her?

Andando por ai, dando uma de zé ninguém. Mas todo mundo sabe quem você é.
Walking around, pretending you're a nobody. But everyone knows who you are

PS: This is just what I could come up with off the top of my head and I tried to make them informal such as the examples that you provided. If you have any questions let me know though.

Oh, those are perfect! Thank you so much! I have learned a lot of idioms now!

And yes, I have one question! In your profile page you said that you speak VBA, I know a little bit of it. But how can you speak it?

Sub Response ( )

Dim UserID As String Dim MSG1 as String

GetUserID = Application.username
Application.ScreenUpdating = False

' MSG1 = MsgBox("Hello" GetUserID "! Yes, I do speak VBA !!" _ ' "How about you?", vbYesNo + vbExclamation, "Info")

' If MSG1 = vbYes Then ' MsgBox "That's nice!"

Else

' MsgBox "Oh, that's a pity!" vbNewLine vbNewLine _ ' "You should learn it", vbInformation Exit Sub End If
Application.ScreenUpdating = True

End Sub

Programming languages are languages, aren't they? lol

I used to speak VBA myself, but then I moved to to C# and that's my home now.

C# is like English. Shorter and capable of saying things much briefly :p
And it's spread around the "world" (take a .NET dll and you can deal fine anywhere in the windowland).

haha thanks for mentioning C# !! Duolingo should start teaching programming languages, I mean, I know it's a crazy idea but I'm of the opinion that the world would be a better place if everyone knew how to code!

"for crying out loud" and "for Pete's sake" are substitutes for something stronger like “for Christ's sake,” “for God's sake,” “for the love of God,” "for heaven's sake" and so on (Because people get offended easily when it comes to religion!)

But I wouldn't say that they can be less or more informal than "for God's sake". I mean, if you search for "google" entries, you'll see that they are pretty much close:

  • For crying out loud = 443,000 results
  • For Pete's sake = 506,000 results
  • For Christ's sake = 637,000 results
  • For God's sake = 536,000 results
  • For heaven's sake = 464,000 results
