Sound
Just since a few days ago, when I've been doing Duolingo, the sound in the lessons isn't working so I can't pass any lessons because I don't know what to type when there is a "listen and type" step. Is this happening to anyone else or is it just my computer?

Is someone looking into this? It really hinders my learning experience. I don't want to be rude, but so far the only thing we got is "no issues here", and I understand things need time to be looked into, but at least some info about if this issue is investigated or am I supposed to try and solve it on my own would be welcome. Big thanks.
I was about to report this as a problem. This has been driving me crazy, because I'll be going along happily typing my solutions and getting them right (or wrong), and then suddenly I'm stuck, as if my speakers died RIGHT at the moment I needed them the most. Occasionally I'll guess and type something random as a response, but that doesn't usually work.
I don't want to turn off the speakers option, because I only run into that problem about 20% of the time, and I like to listen to the audio the rest of the time.
I use Windows 8 and Chrome.

I am having the same problem. The sound was working yesterday and I have no problem getting sound in Itunes. Now I have no sound on the French lessons.
I'm using duo lingo on my iPod (5th gen with ios7) and I have an issue too. With any of the listen and type, the volume is about the sound of the lowest possible system volume. It goes to regular volume as long as I just adjust the volume manually but it goes back to quiet volume at the next question. This glitch or whatever it is is getting extremely annoying to work with.
Similar problem... All other sound works fine on my iPad, but Duolingo's sound is not playing. However, when I spoke an English translation into it, Duolingo 'heard' it and accepted it as correct, so apparently the problem is in playing any sound, whether questions to be answered or sound effects. It worked fine a week ago. Disappointing to see no response to many weeks of comments and requests for assistance.... All suggestions cheerfully received.
Well i had the same problem, no audio on chrome browser, what i did was to make sure i had the latest update on chrome. Therefore closed the the browser to the core (task manager force killed it) then tried again, didnt work.
Then, went and just googled "flash" the adobe website for flash came up and well, here its the trick, even thou it says that ur browser should have the latest version, sometimes simply it just doesnt, for xyz reason.
Solution, just click download last flash player, once downloaded, open the folder where its at, then force close the browsers ( all ) and then install the flash player. After this open up your fav browser and duolingo should work like a charm!!
BTW, make sure u just have ur speakear on a 2.1 or stereo setting, this site will not work on a 5.1 or 7.1 well thats what my mother board couldnt handle... so not sure if the site, the browser or the pc itself. cheers.
