Russian Tree Complete! And favorite sentences.
The past two summers I have completed skill trees (German and Dutch) and today I finished the Russian tree. Last year I shared some sentences I thought were funny and this year I've decided to do the same, but include my other favorite sentences that aren't meant to be funny.
- он выстрелил себе в ногу. (He shot himself in the foot.)
- Кто будет защищать наш город от драконов. (Who will defend our city from dragons.
- она украла около ста телефонов. (She stole almost 100 telephones.)
- Тебя опять арестовали. (Were you arrested again?) I really wish that this sentence had been recorded with sarcasm.
Of course there are many others I'd like to include, but I've forgotten what they are. When I come across them in skill strengthening I'll be sure to add them in. I've decided to make this my own Duolingo tradition. Look for my favorite Romanian sentences next year (if the course has been released).
Congratulations! I did not realise that dragons were such a problem in Russia. :)
Congratulations! Your flag seems a little bit messed up though... :-)
I think "около" is more "about" than "almost" here.
Yes it is, at least thats what it means in this context in Polish- roughly/about
This is so funny! I'm still working on the Russian tree and I haven't seen these sentences. Could you also please mention some of the funniest sentences in Dutch, please?
My personal favourites are "De snelheid van ons omaatje is bijna niet te geloven" and "Haar kaas is mijn kaas" (kinda reminiscent of "mi casa es su casa" but with Dutch flavour :p).
Having just recently finished the Russian tree myself, I love this! Haha! I got that dragon question, too. I found the whole history unit so funny.....so fixed on dragons, spears, and shields! :) Congratulations! Russian was very tough for me. Great accomplishment!
Russian is very suitable to tell the troubles and bad moments, i love that language
Congratulations!!!!!! i'm really anxious to finish my tree too!! Also i love your idea, i think i'm gonna start my own collection of weird phases, like don't get me wrong, i love duolingo, but there are some sentences that i'll never find a situation to use.
Мои поздравления! Надеюсь, что этот курс только начало, и русский язык вы не забудете) Удачи!
