How do I know when to choose figyeli and when to choose nézi ?

"Figyel" is more "pay attention to" than "watch". It seemed like the right word to use with minding after some boys, though.

For example: "Figyelj!" means roughly "Listen up!" (Or, I suppose, "pay attention!")

Is "figyeli" a good translation here?

I think yes.

Is Kik nézik a fiúkat? also a correct translation?

Reading the Wiktionary entry for figyel it states that it's using -ra/-re, compared to the Wiktionary entry for néz that does allow -t.

This accepts "Ki figyeli a fiúkat" as a translation, but shouldn't it actually be "Ki figyeli a fiúkra"? Or maybe I'm looking to deep into this.

"Ki figyeli a fiúkra" wouldn't be grammatically correct, "ki figyel a fiúkra" would be and it doesn't sound identical to "ki figyeli a fiúkat". Figyel +ra/re sounds like paying attention to something (as opposed to ignoring it) while figyel +t sounds like continuous observation.

I don't remember learning "figyel". So I missed that one.

Neither do I! Guess we are learning it now ;)

Is it not: Ki vigyaz a fiukra?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/MrtonPolgr

That's more "who takes care of the boys"
