Limited allowance for alternative phrasing

I get fed up with being chucked out for questions where my response, though perfectly in line with the given sentence, does not conform to the limited list of acceptable answers. In the end I just say sod it and go and do something less stressful.

I know what you mean. If your answer is definitely correct, just hit the report button and they will fix it for later. It is annoying, but you kind of get that feeling of the guy at the head of the expedition, cutting the trail through the brush. It's not much fun for you, but it will help others in the long run.

Well, it's not fun losing the heart, but it is fun getting the email that says "we now accept this translation".

I'll go a step further and say even if you aren't sure that your answer is definitely correct, but you think it is, submit it.

This is what the "Report a problem -> My answer should be accepted" button is for. I've had about 90 translations added so far in response to my reports (on one occasion, within ten minutes of making the report).

I just recently got my first acceptance email for my suggestion. (Woohoo yay! Happy dance!!) Somebody beat me to being the first to report the others (those times when I was definitely right, as opposed to slightly wrong hehe).

Take out your ire by sending them a report every time explaining why the correct answer is better than the slang that is often favoured instead! They usually do send a note to say they've fixed it, though not immediately.
