Btw, if you struggle to read Harry Potter, try reading with the audio-books by Stephen Fry (you're going to kill two birds with one stone!). If you ask me, I think Stephen Fry’s is a classic in the audio book world. He is perfection on every level in my opinion. All the characters on the book are superbly brought to life with real personality and depth that carries impeccably throughout the entire series. I personally think Fry’s has an incredible ability with accents, speech, inflection and tone. I have listened to these books many times and still find so much joy listening to his narration!

Good afternoon! My name is Jflor and I liked so much your topic, because it encourages we to read and write in the same time.
My favorite book is "how I was before you". This book did me think about my life and the things that I do, the way whose I follow and showed me new things that I can and I have to do.
Please, If I wrote something wrong, correct me.
The Series 'Immortal", Nora Roberts, where she writes with a codename J.D. Robb. The history is a sci-fi mixed with police romance. For me Nora Roberts is one of the most creative writer in the world actually, her books are between the best-sellers well sold worldwide.
"The realities of the world affected me as visions, and as visions only, while the wild ideas of the land of dreams became, in turn – not the material of my every-day existence – but in very deed that existence utterly and solely in itself.
Berenice and I were cousins, and we grew up together in my paternal halls. Yet differently we grew – I ill of health, and buried in gloom – she agile, graceful, and overflowing with energy; hers the ramble on the hill-side – mine the studies of the cloister – I living within my own heart, and addicted body and soul to the most intense and painful meditation – she roaming carelessly through life with no thought of the shadows in her path, or the silent flight of the raven-winged hours."
Hello y'all o/ Well, it's obvious that Harry Potter is te favorite book of a lot of people, including me. Maybe that's because it was my first book and I grew up reading it.
But as the time goes by we discover other authors and genres and fall in love with them as well. As some of my favorite books are the Hunger Games Trilogy, His Dark Material (Nothern Lights, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass). Surely those two trilogies got me in the heart and I love them.
Has anybody here read any bookof His Dark Materials? I know the movie was quite awful, but ok... the book is awesome.
P.S. His Dark Materials is translated as "Fronteiras do Universo" and its first movie was cast as The Golden Compass (A Bússola de Ouro).
Nice topic!, my favorite book is "Death with Interruptions", original name is "As intermitências da Morte" of José Saramago. In this book he tries to answer a 'simple question'. What would happen if people stopped dying?
