"Literally" yes, but in situations where a native speaker of English is inclined to say "I'd like to invite you" a Ukrainian speaker would be more likely to say "Я хочу запросити вас". Hence "I'd like to invite you" should be accepted as an alternative.

"I would like to ..." is a formal/more polite way to invite somebody, "I want to ..." is a more direct way. It is the same for Ukrainian.

From "просити" - "to ask for smth." ("Question" is "запитання" in Ukrainian.)
