Is this my Szegedi accent making me hear this pronunciation of 'sekély' as 'seki'? I would've said it 'sek-ay'.
I am not a native Hungarian speaker and I hear /ʃɛkej/, but I understand how /e/ sound can sound like /i/ when contrasted with /ɛ/ and followed by /j/.
I hear it as "sekély".
yea, no, i'm not hearing it that way at all...but at least I know what they mean when they say this weird, non-existent word... :-)
------- it sounds perfect, now . . .
