Tangazo la Kumi na mbili na nusu
I'm sifting through the Alpha Tester applications now!
We'll hopefully have some new, fresh faces on Team Swahili by the weekend's end. With our training cycle in full swing, hopefully I'll have a few more days to start adding to some essential course content. Again, it will be a bit of a slow process for the next month and a half! Poleni sana for the wait!
Nusu means half since I am not writing a full update. I just wanted to keep you all current and to let you all know that there will be something coming out soon.
Slower week. The wait for new beta courses continues. Two coming up in August and at least, one in September.
Previous Update 17-Jul to 24-Jul
Great to see Romanian so close to the finish line! I'm also still waiting for Guarani - I wish the team would provide an update.
The Romanian course has advanced to 95% ... It's good to see their progress. When it becomes beta, I will try it.
Yep, me too! It's just not right having all these Romance languages here without it!

torowan:Hi Roniann! Contacting you since you wrote the greeting message on the Guaraní incubator page... Do you have any updates on progress? Is it coming together, is there anything that a guy that doesn't speak Guaraní but is decent in Spanish (native Brazilian Portuguese) could do to help?
LaRoqueRoniann:Hello! We are finishing up the recordings next week and then it should be up shortly after that. I apologize for the delay! We were delayed a bit here and it has taken some extra time to get up. Thanks for reaching out!
Yes, regarding Guarani.
I'm quite surprised because they made incredibly fast progress getting the course to 100% (much faster than almost any other course except maybe Welsh) and then dead silence for months.
I'm wondering what happened!
Not that I'm super eager for Guarani for any practical reason, but I was looking forward to "sampling" it just out of curiosity. I think it'd be neat to learn a few basic phrases and something of how the language sounds and is built.
Here's hoping someone can finish the course one day!
My guess is that they have to record the voice. It may take longer than other languages because there might not be a TTS available for Guarani. But still, I wish they would tell us what's going on and a rough estimation as to how much longer it will take.
JitenGore's dedication to his awesome and highly addicting Weekly Incubator Update merits a Lingot Festival! Here are 100 to get it going :) Who wants to join in?
Wow! Thanks for the kind words (and the lingots)! :)
Edit: Congrats on completing your one year streak!
I can't believe I have a year long streak - it went by really quickly. I almost lost it a couple of times being off the grid, but managed to keep it going by a matter of minutes, haha! Thanks for noticing! And your 1000 day Duoversary is coming up shortly! Magnificent!
Good to see that Czech keeps on moving. Almost there! :D Thank you Jiten for another great update!
Try to memorize just one new Korean word a week, and by the time the course is released, you'll already have mastered over 400,000 Korean words, so you'll be able to breeze right through the tree.
Great to see Romanian close to being finished. It'll be interesting to learn an eastern European Romance language. I'm also happy to see Klingon progressing. I've always been interested in it, even though it's not a "real language." Happy to see progress with Korean, and I'm really looking forward to Greek.
I am glad to see some things do continue to happen with the Klingon course. Very slowly, mind, but still; it seems not to be quite dead.
Still mostly excited about Swahili, though!
The Klingon team has made 1% progress two weeks in a row! Let's see how long they can keep that streak... go Klingon! =D
With any luck they will keep it up and the course will enter beta in time for Christmas 2017.
Keep it up team Klingon!
As someone who had suggested Swahili several times long before it ever entered the incubator, I share your eagerness for its arrival. Unfortunately, I'd be surprised if it actually arrives before next spring (just based on how the last several languages went). It'll likely be 3 or 4 months at least to go from 70% to 100%, and then anywhere from 2 to 4 months more before it is released.
But it's all good, because that'll give me some time to finish the Greek tree before Swahili is ready!
Well, they had it planned for today before they ran into the trouble with the TTS, and they have worked pretty quickly thus far. That might suggest that even if, aside from the TTS thing, they were delayed a bit, it might not have been too much, and that would mean they now have mostly just the voice recordings to go. It would not surprise me if it wasn't December 1st on the day, but I remain hopeful that it won't be delayed too much more.
It may be false hope, but that's still hope, so I'm good with that :)
I have plenty to do as well, before then, thankfully. Good luck with your Greek!
I'm glad to see someone else waiting for that course! I just hope I my French is good enough!
Months and months of silence and lack of (visible) progress from the English for Thai speakers course. Does anyone have an update? Is it still going to happen?
I can't wait for Olympic Games to start! ehemmm... I mean... I can't wait for Czech!
Can you please see if you can repost the image or tell us the stats because it does not show up.
I think they meant releasing languages, like Greek and Guarani or something; not adding new languages to the incubator, but hopefully they do
Yeah, pretty sure it's Greek for English and Esperanto for Spanish, as those are shown as having the expected release date in August, and the one that is mentioned for September, Portuguese for French, also has the release date then.
Thanks for all the love and kind words!
Please expect today's update by noon PST - four hours later than usual.
