Letter "N" at the end of the verbs

Hello guys. It`s been a few weeks since I started to learn Dutch but still cannot get it if the letter "N" should be pronounced at the end of the verbs. So I would really appreciate if somebody cleared it up. Thanks :)

My take is that the "n" is skipped in daily speech unless one is being extra precise. I still say it tho.

It is pronounced, but normally not very clearly.

Edit: And as Fire-ergens mentions: in some regions the "e" isn't pronounced (for the e in -en at the end of words that is).

Does it nasalize the vowel a bit, like in French? Or just a faint consonant sound?

Nope, just faint.

Depends on the region, in some regions the "n" isn't pronounced and in some regions the "e" isn't pronounced.

I myself don't really pronounce the "n" and occasionally I leave out/slur some other parts of the verb. It all depends really.

Thanks. I tend not to pronounce the "n" either. So it`s not a mistake then...

When I was in Noord/Zuid Holland, nobody I talked to pronounced the "n" on the end of verbs.

As for nouns, I never noticed a consistent pattern. It just depends.

For me, I find it easier to speak if I drop my n's.. So I do

In the most eastern region (Overijssel / Achterhoek) people tend to drop the e in front of the n ant the end of words. E.g. "werken" sounds like "werk'n". But in the rest of the country the n usually gets dropped.
