Sure but do keep in mind that answers and solutions are subtly different things. Answers are to questions as solutions are to problems.
But you can't tell from the context of a single sentence!!! All grammatically correct answers should be accepted in that case.
What does this mean?
Let's say someone asks "what are you going to do? Shoot me?", the quickest answer is indeed to just pull the trigger. That's the most illustrious example I could think of.
