?למה לא עוף

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Hamutaltul

we're usually use עוף to describe chicken (food) or a single bird (as in "birds (aves) are a group of endothermic vertebrates, characterised by feathers, toothless beaked jaws, the laying of hard-shelled eggs, a high metabolic rate, a four-chambered heart, and a lightweight but strong skeleton..." [wikipedia]. Aves in hebrew is עופות)

How to pronounce תרנגולת? The audio is quite fast

A ptarmigan is a wild chicken-like bird, whose name is apparently from Scottish-Gaelic tàrmachan. I wonder if that and תרנגולת could be related in any way.

It's a good help for remembering the Hebrew word, anyway! Thanks!
