This to me translates to "The man returns home". I believe "The man returns" is "Người đàn ông trở lại".

Tôi sẽ trở về (I'll be back) ;)

I typed "The man is returning" to test if it allowed it. Now why is this wrong? What would be the equivelent in Vietnamese? Also what would be the past and future forms? "The man returned" "The man will return"

In Vietnamese you can optionally include a particle đang to emphasize the continuous/progressive like English -ing, but it's not required when not emphasizing, so it should be acceptable too.
