Wow! I put quotation marks around שלום and they marked it wrong!
Me too. I wouldn't mind so much except that in another exercise I was marked wrong for omitting speech marks!
How would you say "even he doesn't say hello"?
אפילו הוא לא אומר שלום
I wrote it the same words but was marked wrong is it terribly wrong in English? I wrote "He even doesn't say "hello". "
hu afílu lo omér shalóm!
I really couldn't figure out the first three words even though I played it several times. sounded like "rufyulo". Is anyone else having this issue?
I speak hebrew on a daily basis and even I (אפילו אני) couldn't understand the sentence
הוּא מַעֲדִיף ”אַהְלַן”.
AnCatDubh used Ahlan, a casual hello from Arabic used by Israelis, like “Hey!” (This is a friendly Hey, not the accusatory Hey!).
Same as sheila547656! Frustrating! The difference between with or without quotationmarks is infinitesimal if there at all. Native speakers of English as well as Ivrit - please correct me!
Yes I put the quotation marks around שלום too and they marked me wrong. Some time ago I was marked wrong for omitting them. What should I do then, put only half of them?
Audio is truncated. That's why people are having a hard time hearing it
Maybe there is a problem with your device, because I can hear the whole sentence.
Is הוא אפילו לו לא אומר שלום the correct way to say "He doesn't say hello even to him?"
Not a native speaker, but I believe that would be:
"הוא אפילו לא אומר לו שלום".
