meleg: hot, meleg: warm. sometimes hot is rejected, sometimes warm is rejected. Here hot was rejected, although it can be sometimes hot in Hungary in Spring. On the other hand, it is often warm.

Shouldn't the following also be accepted? - "Sometimes it is hot in spring."

Yes agree, I've just played it again and and this time it sounds quite clear. It could be that the sound may get corrupted from time to time.

Why is "Spring is sometimes hot" not acceptable?

"Spring" is not the subject here. Your sentence would be "A tavasz néha meleg." Also note the absence of van here.

No, instead it's tavasszal - in spring.
