"A madarak a szigetekről repülnek a hegyekhez."

Translation:The birds fly from the islands to the mountains.

Couldn't this also be: 'the birds from the islands fly to the mountains'?

I would say that your sentence, "the birds from the islands fly to the mountains" suggests that we are talking about "birds from the islands" - that is, birds that originate in the islands. In the Hungarian sentence, "from the islands" is clearly just where they start flying from. "The birds fly from the islands to the mountains" matches the meaning better, or at least less ambiguously.

Birds from the islands flying would be A szigeti madarak repülnek? Since they from, but not in motion away from?

Is that The not optional? Thanks.
