How about "Esik: az óvónők nem repülnek." Is that possible too?

It's perfect in everyday usage, if you say only "Esik" it refers to the rain. Although "eső" can be added to avoid confusion (usually in times of year when both rain and snow are possible); in case of snowing the correct material always shall be mentioned: "Esik a hó" or "Havazik".
