When can this start? I love this site and everything about it and I know there is English for Japanese speakers but when can we make this happen? I lived in Japan for a couple of years and I would love to use this platform to improve my Japanese.

If you already have a solid base in the language (which it seems like you would in a couple of years) there is no reason why you can't just do the current course. Worked out fine for me (started the course after 7 months of self study), just need to make sure you have a dictionary handy (rikaisama / kun browser addons are fantastic) to get the pronunciation of unknown kanji.

Obviously it's not quite as good as if it was Japanese for English speakers but apart from it not explaining differences between certain Japanese grammar forms (because Japanese speakers already know them) it actually works quite well. I did the German for English speakers course for a while before it wiped my progress so I am aware of how much better the explanations are when you wholly understand them.

As a bonus, reading the discussions is always entertaining and I've learnt multiple new things I never knew about English as a result (and that extra reading practice is always good!).
