This is a new way of using debit and credit cards with built in NFC chips. The user just taps the card reader with their card for their transaction to be completed. Currently limited to payments of less than £30. Similar in action to Applepay but quicker, very useful on the London Underground.

There an explanation in the section notes. At the moment there is more widespread use of contactless payment cards in Europe, especially in Britain, than in the US.
