I FINISHED MY FRENCH DUOLINGO TREE AFTER TWO YEARS
YEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!! So proud of myself, thank you for this wonderful commmunity!
Je suis très heureux pour toi! Bravo! Est-ce que tu pense que tu vas apprendre l'arbre anglais en français ou non? C'est juste une idée ^_^
Félicitations à toi !
Congratulations! Well done! And you are more than halfway to level 25 as well.
Félicitations à vous. Et oui, je suis en utilisant Google translate, haha. Et vous devriez prendre quelques autres langues, et peut-être si vous sentez le besoin de, revenir à français!
Can I ask a general question, I am also nearing the end and my fluency index is 50% out of 60% but my rating is only 15, which means that to get to 25 I would need another 14,990 experiential points (assuming I'll be getting 100 points per day I will need another 6 months to get there). So does that mean that finishing the tree is not the ultimate goal in itself?
The ultimate goal is to learn the language, which you can't do using only Duolingo. It's great for the basics and for practicing though. I'm just trying to keep the trees green. I rarely do 100 XPs a day, it depends how much time I have, but I try to make time for at least one lesson. Eventually I'll get to level 25, but I think the daily practice is more important. I've got 61% out of 60% in French on the fluency index ;) I don't think it means much.

4 days of daily ligvist later, and although it supposedly still in testing, it appears to be very good for improving vocabulary. I'm over 1100 words so far, so I'll probably hit 50% of my Duolingo vocabulary by tomorrow and exceed it in under 2 weeks. Assuming I progress at the same rate, it will undoubtedly get tougher. The algorithm is much better at focusing on where you need more practice. Words you get right the first time stay away for a long time, and ones you make mistakes on reappear quite quickly. A lot of different words from here already. They claim it's possible to get a B2 level vocabulary in 200 hours using it. After a good dose of Duolingo it might well be faster to get there. The little graph goes up to 5,000 so I'm hoping they actually have made it that big!
Thanks for the tip!
If their vocabulary to level theory is correct, Duolingo will leave you somewhere between B1 and B2. I have 2701 words here, and having finished the tree I presume that's about all there are here.
Just gave lingvist a try, seems pretty good so far!
