Why do we have double 'alá' in this sentence?

In these "this table" structures, which translates to "ez az asztal", both "ez" and "asztal" get conjugated or get the same posposition. This is generally true with this construction.

"ez az asztal" - this table
"ezzel az asztallal" - with this table
"erre az asztalra" - onto this table
"ez alatt az asztal alatt" - under this table
"ez alá az asztal alá" - (to) under this table
Etc.

Could bemegy also work here? I am thinking of the mice who run under the stove, befutnak a sütő alá, in another lesson.
