What about "I do not sleep after A coffee" ?
This is me right now O_O
It sounds unnatural. It should be "I can't sleep after coffee."
Which is "Nie mogę spać po kawie". Which is of course a more natural sentence, but that's not what the Polish one says.
It's not really English.
Why is "I don't sleep after drinking coffee" wrong when "...after having coffee" isn't?
If 'having' was accepted, then 'drinking' should be as well, I think. Added.
But 'having' shouldn'e be accepted as well, no? The sentence is not 'Nie śpię po piciu kawie'?
Well, it is an addition, but a very logical one... one could say that "Nie śpię po kawie" doesn't have any literal sense, it's rather a mental shortcut.
I cannot sleep without taking coffee...Anyone else?
