  5. Xp points per hour?

Xp points per hour?

I am offering extra credit to students who practice 10 hours this summer. Approximately how many Xp points would that be? Is there any way to equate xp points with minutes spent on duolinguo? I know I saw an estimate somewhere but I can no longer find it! I thought it might have been 10 hours=800 xp? Does that sound right?

Be careful with setting XP targets. It's too easy to gain XP by simply repeating an easy lesson, or spamming Duobot translations into Immersion. Instead, maybe set a target of arriving back in the new school year with the tree still gold, or having reached a particular point in the tree

Sbeecroft puts it very well in this post: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/7344376

with the new xp gains by skipping lessons ahead to gold, you can get like 2000xp in just 30 mins

How do you do that

I usually search for interesting questions, but I am so sad to find that here there are not many answers. Let's say five minutes per 10 xp. But it can vary a lot. Sometimes I have 7 sentences per lesson, sometimes I make a lot of mistakes and get to 40, so you never know. I guess my answer to the question is quite late, but anyway, you got my point.

only 80 xp per hour.

It varies, there is no real accurate way to measure how many hours a student was on based on XP.

it would be helpful to time ourselves and report what data we have. Maybe there is also a variation of xp/hour depending on the language?
