I think some people will disagree with me, but in fact whenever you can use amelyik, you could also use ami/aki (but not the other way around.)

Yes, it should be "amelyik". The noun being referred ("asztal") is mentioned in the sentence, the use of "ami" is officially incorrect. But the incorrect usage is spreading like wild fire.
