Biblical Languages

Hello, I just entered a seminary and am starting to learn biblical languages. I just enrolled in the Hebrew course but I was wondering.

  1. Are there any plans to create a Latin Course?
  2. How different is Modern Greek here vs Biblical Greek, would it help me with Biblical Greek at all?

Thanks guys!

  1. Latin has been suggested many times on this forum, but no course yet. You can follow a user named Carpelanam's Latin lessons that they have been making on this forum to keep us happy while waiting for that course to be started.

thanks onthehype25!

Luis von Ahn has expressed interest in a Latin course. But only that. We have yet to see if he initiates such a course.

Koine Greek is understandable by native speakers of Modern Greek, but it may or may not be difficult for a learner.

Modern greek and koine greek are extremely different. The pastor of my church who is fluent in koine greek can't understand anything in modern greek.
