"the most" = "najbardziej". We have the 2nd degree of comparative here.

Would a comma instead of a dash work here as well (in Polish grammar)? Does Polish use the em- or en-dash in this instance?

Unless you work in a field connected with typography, no one cares. I guess everyone just pushes the button next to "0" on the keyboard.

A colon would work, that's for sure. A comma... yes, I believe so.

Apparently Duo cares if I use an em- or an en-dash here – I answered:

What do you like more - reading or writing?

whereupon Duo replied:

Another correct solution:

What do you like more – reading or writing?

Anyone spot the difference? Duo did – though it doesn't usually care about punctuation.

Interesting. But true, it is the one that was put here, I guess the course creators made such a decision, it probably indeed is the technically correct one.

Why is: "What do you like most - reading or writing", not acceptable?

February 8, 2018

"most" is "najbardziej", not "bardziej".

And in English you don't need (some would say shouldn't use) 'most' when only comparing two things.
