Yes, that would also be accepted but we don't use the indefinite article in Greek as much as in English.
In Portuguese, "Camelopárdale" is the ancient word for giraffe. I love these similarities with my language.
Camelopardalis is also a constellation.
So the last η of καμηλοπάρδαλη melts together with the εί of είναι when said together.
