How to get a new phone number (SIM card) in Russian

Hi guys,

I’m in Kiev, Ukraine at the moment and I thought to make a video about how to get a local SIM card in a mobile phone shop.

You get into the shop. How do you ask for the SIM card? What sort of questions do you expect from the seller?

I hope that in this video you’ll find lots of useful phrases. I’ve added both Russian and English subtitles.

"Как вы? Хорошо? - How are you? Good?

Всё отлично? - All perfect?"

Это явно лишнее) Russians never ask sellers "How are you? Good? All perfect?..."

I think it's always nice to ask people how they are.
It's also good practice making sure if they are "really ready" for you.
They took it well and, at the end, gave the seller an Oscar!
"Оскар ему дадут!". Ha, ha.
