Nem Kunszt: A little something for German and Hungarian afficionados

So... I love this little song, and felt like sharing, so here you go:

I'm not going to try to translate everything but the song was commissioned by a Hungarian language school in order to promote the idea that learning German isn't so scary because everybody already knows lots of words of German origin.

So the song is jam-packed full of as much German-derived vocabulary as possible, and the result is awesome.

The full lyrics are in the description under the video.

I have no idea what's going on in the video, but the idea behind it is awesome :D

PS: does the title, "Nem Kunszt", mean "not Art"?

Literally, nem kunszt (Kunst) means not art, but in Hungarian, it is used in phrase "Ez nem kunszt" or "nem egy nagy kunszt" which means "this is not a big deal".

For example:

-János solved the homework problem.

-Oh, az nem kunszt, I can solve much harder problems than that.

Cool! Thank you so much for the explanation! :)

Strangely enough, there's a synonymous expression that's even more German: "nem egy nagy vasziszdasz" (literally: not a big "was ist das" ["what is that"]).

Ha, that's great! I've never heard that one before.
