I'm still having a hard time trying to figure the word order. Can anybody explain why "Gyakran itt esik az esö" is incorrect?

Well, look at the English sentence. Would you put "here" between "often" and "rains"? ".. often here rains" - does that sound OK?
In Hungarian, you can do that, but then "itt" would become emphasized, for being in front of the verb. As in "It is often here that it rains".

My bigger problem is with "in" in the English sentence "It often rains in here". Are we talking about an indoor rain?

Why not "bent" for "in here" rather than "itt"

I did 'Gyakran esik az eső itt'.

Itt as eso gyakran esik should work no?

What is "as"? If you say "Itt az eső gyakran esik", it should be okay, but sounds a bit off. "Esik az eső" is a pretty fixed phrase.
