Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Its development, derived from early versions of basketball, began in England in the 1890s. [...] Netball is most popular in Commonwealth nations, specifically in schools, and is predominantly played by women.

I had never heard of it before, either.

I had no idea netball was so region-specific. It and hockey were the compulsory winter sports at my school.

Its like basketball in the way you play into hoops. But you cant bounce the ball and there is no board behind the net. Its also usually played outside

You can bounce the ball - and must whilst taking the maximum of three steps that are allowed when you have possession. Players are also limited to certain parts of the court, depending on their position.
