Does this have the same meaning as in English, where "seeing red" means becoming angry?

"Das Kind sieht Rot."

Why is "Rot" capitalized? It's an adjective, not a noun.

What does the child see? Red. Wouldn't that make red a noun then? "The car is red," makes it an adjctive, right?

I put "The child is seeing red", and was marked incorrect. Isn't this a correct statement?

Sounds like this kid wants to murder things or is quite possibly in the process of murdering things

I think in this case, "Rot" is a noun. "The child sees red", not "the child sees a red ...."
