Down-votes on Immersion

I started working in a "Edward Scissorhands" translation from English to Portuguese on Immersion nearly an hour ago.

I came back a moment ago only to find that I was flooded with over 100 negative votes in nearly every single edit I made! I am shocked, as nothing like this ever happened to me before. Someone seems to be having fun just down-voting other people's edits.

I would like to know to whom I should report this, so that I can get this situation fixed. I don't want to remain in my current Immersion level until I have over 1000 positive votes.

I am fine with the downvote since people were doing things like copy and pasting duotbot and just adding random sentences they made up that were completely irrelevant to the articles.

However there seems to be the new issue of votes going up and down faster than would happen if everyone had one vote. Over 100 in an hour seems like some kind of hack or glitch. Or it could be that the Portuguese Immersion is very active. I've seen people get hundreds upvotes in a short period of time as well.

I wouldn't expect much to change in Immersion since Duolingo seems to have no interest in it. The learning you get from Immersion you will still get even if you don't advance in Tiers. So if you find it a valuable learning tool use it and forget about the arbitrary numbers.

I'm sorry for that, I've never liked the down vote option, especially in Immersion.
It's not that useful, because if you think the sentence is wrong, you tend to edit it, not to point out that it seems wrong.

Exactly. I am feeling extremely disappointed because the down vote is just simply not working. For instance, the person(s) I am complaining about didn't even correct the edits (if there is any correction to make at all). And it gets frustrating when I correct someone's edit and then a few minutes later you receive a down vote for that. Ridiculous...
