Finished the Greek tree!
First of all, Duo's awesome! I've completed the Greek skill tree! Second of all, I'd like to take this time to thank sincerely all the contributors to Greek on Duolingo. So in honor of you, here is a very special trophy in which to show my gratitude. (profile pic) :D
Thanks once more!
Congratulations :D As you have finished the tree early we will need your feedback and your reports to improve the course in the near future!
By the way, now we have the same profile pic! Don't get confused if they call you Mod :P
Thanks! I don't think there's a lot more to comment on the sentences :D
Mine is just slightly bigger :)
Congratulations! :) I'll try to finish this tree as soon as possible.
Greek is a very beautiful language!
Grecque est une tres belle langue!
Did you know Greek prior to learning it here and what were the hard things in the tree for you ?
Yes (not too much :), and mainly the articles and prepositions killed me when I was typing Greek sentences :)
okey, yeah the articles and prepositions seem a bit hard to memorize for me too as I just started learning Greek now.
Those keep throwing me off too. I keep confusing object pronouns and possessive adjectives. του seems like it can mean a lot of things.
Congratulations! :D That was really fast! :D You did an awesome job!! :)
Very impressive! And here I thought I was chugging along fast. For some reason, the Greek course is especially addictive.
Note that learning (actually) a language is more important than attaining levels :)
Which is also why I wonder why some people attach so much stock to attaining level 25. If they've finished the tree and go off to practise the language elsewhere with some method that can offer them more than Duolingo, that's surely better than to stay here and repeat repeat repeat, just to get a number next to your name!
Very well said :)
I am actually planning to practise Greek on Memrise now... will still occasionally visit the Immersion page tho
Whilst I agree, the central system of Duo is small intangible rewards to keep you engaged. If you want to go elsewhere to further knowledge, it makes complete sense but if people want to stick with it here with the same set of words and phrases I think it's still a very positive thing.
Very good work! I hope to join you soon, but adding in the new alphabet and no mobile version is going to slow me down I think but this adds inspiration. What are your plans now? I would find some other Greek resources if I were you but I suspect you're awaiting Swahili...
I'm waiting for Swahili ;-) And arabic. Ah well. All in good time. Plenty to get proficient at in the meantime.
Well done. Don't forget to go back when all the new topics get added once its fully rolled out. I'm still going back through the additions to german. I'd love to know what it takes to be more than 50% fluent (I have French tree finished and the top half is orange, and I've done some translations but still hovering round 50% there.
We should probably be practising speaking among ourselves. The step between doing all the exercises and reading comfortably, or having a real conversation, is huge ;-)
Thank you! Yes; can't wait for the new skills!
I agree again; I find writing and listening easier than speaking :)
WOW! Already at level 25! Congratulations! I have just finished my tree and I'm only at level 11. :-)
The tree's awesome; there are only so many (mostly minor) errors in the entire tree!
Well done you! I'm on your tracks -then again I'm Greek and I suspect so are you ;-) lol
In that case I tip my hat off to you, your feat is even more impressive! And congrats to you on your language collection :-D
:) Haven't touched any of the languages below lvl4 for a long time and won't be thinking of doing them anytime soon
Congratulations (whatever that means)... Usually completing a tree just mean that.. That you completed a tree. You could be A1-A2 (very basic level) in that language, so completing it doesn't mean that you are fluent or anything, it just means that you are a very hard worker
I have just joined you in the finished-Greek club - that's tree number 12 for me!
Good job! Really! I'm talking as a native Greek speaking, who is trying to finish it, just for one reason, to make the Greek version official as soon as possible. But I didn't make it so far. It is a hard work for a non-native speaking, who starts from scratch. Very hard work, I assure you, even for me it is hard. Just report problems to the Greek team, or put them to discussion. Some native speaking can answer you for sure. I don't know how much time it takes to become a beta version official, and who decides so. It would quite important to know.
Merci! Grazie! Ευχαριστώ! Teşekkür ederim! ¡Gracias! Danke! Tack! Dankon! :)
Congratulation ! 2 questions : what is your native language and what was your greek level when you started it through Duolingo?
