Are we supposed to translate names when there is an English counterpart? I got marked correct for Zsuzsa/Susan but incorrect for János/John.

As far as it seems, not really. But you are probably right, it should be more consistent.

I have a Hungarian friend who says Szia is used only for an informal goodbye, like "see ya". Confusing :0/

"Szia" is informal but it is good for both "hello" and "bye". And "viszlát" is a bit more formal but can also be used among good friends.

I think it should be accepted. Goodbye as in clearly formal situations.
