Incorrect to be female?

When I try to type in feminine adjectives such as estoy perdida, it's marked wrong. Is this duolingo being sexist, or is my spanish bad?

Perhaps neither. Duo does not have every 'correct' response to every question in the database. It is a work in progress. If you think your answer is correct, report it and Duo, if it agrees, will fix things.

I did report it. But it hasn't changed.

Corrections can take weeks, but if they accept your suggestion you'll get an email. I have received several.

I did notice that in the spanish flirting lesson that while "en tu casa o en la mia" was initially counted as incorrect, favored by the masculine "en tu casa o en la mio" duo eventually accepted this answer. Although I did not get a notification e-mail.

I have noticed this too. I will try to remember to flag it so it's an issue that gets attention from the duo staff.

the other thing to bear in mind is as a verb form "perdido" will always be "perdido." Estoy perdida" is correct for you, while I say "estoy perdido", (I am lost) but both of us have to say "lo he perdido" (I have lost it). "perdido" isn't an adjective there and its ending doesn't vary.

I know that...I was wondering about it strictly as an adjective.

Certainly a missing response, then. And probably sexist, at least in the sense that if the masculine was missing it would have been flagged right away :-(

I guess I'll have to get better at flagging them. Thanks, Dale.

It's not that they're sexists, you have to bear in mind that there are lots of possible translations to each sentence, and the course creators just can't think of them all! You have to report them.
