I used נוסעים rather than הולכים. Would a native speaker going to the sea from, say, Jerusalem, use הולכים? I'm not quite sure of the walking/traveling/going lines between these two words.
I would usually say נוסעים. But maybe some people would sometimes say הולכים in a very general sense of we are heading for the sea.

can אל be used instead of ל?
Is this the Mediterranean sea or the Mediterranean in general?
