Spanish Movies

Hello, I would like to improve my Spanish by watching some movies. Maybe somebody has something really interesting to offer? I watched "Relatos Salvajes" and "Biutiful" and they were amazing, so I'd like to watch something similar maybe.

I recommend: "Amores perros" (by Alejandro Iñárritu, the same director of "Biutiful"), "Mar adentro", "Y tu mamá también", "Abre los ojos", "El secreto de sus ojos", "El laberinto del fauno", and the filmography of the most popular Spanish (and Oscar-winning) director, Pedro Almodóvar ("La mala educación", "Hable con ella", "Volver", "Todo sobre mi madre", "Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios", "La piel que habito", etc..)

I second "Todo sobre mi madre" but I'd recommend watching it with subtitles (preferably Spanish not English) just because the subject matter includes a lot of vocabulary you would never encounter in a classroom setting and you'll have to look stuff up to figure out what's going on.

Yes, Almodóvar's movies are very... explicit. But generally speaking, I'd recommend watching all movies with subtitles, until they're not needed anymore of course :)

Movies are my favorite thing to practice. I've already watched all Almodóvar movies and I strongly recommend them. Other Great movies: Diarios de Motocicleta, Medianeras, Y tú mamá también, Como agua para chocolate

There's also a playlist on Youtube with a lot of American movies but with Spanish Audio (no subs). Here's the link if you want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNq2eaZvd5PsY9bF9QTeJ30IRscWVT_4c

Do you have netflix? "Tu y yo" is a movie based around singer David Bisbal. I thought it was going to be ordinary and just a focus on the pop star, and I had nothing else to do while sick in bed. It turned out to be very well-done, lots of music and cool visuals but the thing that I liked most was that it was a bit spiritual and had many characters. The best word for it is deep.
