The peasants are revolting: "Os camponeses revoltam-se." ou "Os camponeses são repugnantes."?
is this sentence truly relevant? Do people really say "peasants" in portuguese???
I just asked someone who's a native speaker...he said in Portuguese "peasant" doesn't have that negative connotation nor seen as an "old time" word, so to speak. Its probably just the closest translation they could get in English. "Camponeses" are people who work in "O Campo" (The fields) in the countryside, I'm assuming.
