Another reverse course added today. It's interesting to notice that it is already above 50% completed (on its first day!). It is possibly due to having a lot of similarities to Portuguese for Spanish, etc. It's also the same team of moderators and contributors as the reverse course. Good luck!

Fantastic! Anyone know how many official languages represented with countries in this June's World Cup? Wouldn't it be amazing if Duolingo had courses for all of them TO Portuguese for the enjoyment and benefit of those going for the games? And from Portuguese TO each of those languages to assist Brazilians wanting to converse with tourists? The languages of the countries with the most visitors could be added first since those would be most used, probably.

It would spread Duolingo's name worldwide.

That would be really amazing! Duolingo is already very useful to those who can't afford english courses (while brazilian government pays prostitutes to learn english). That will be useful in case you are robbed or attacked so you can understand portuguese and defend yourself. Everything is expensive (and brazilians will rise prices during the world cup) so be prepared to haggle in portuguese, otherwise they will really explore foreigners (the hotel prices in São Paulo can be 40% more expensive than a hotel in Paris). Finally, I would be scared to death to be sick while in a big crowd, so, prepare your 'asking for help' skills too (you also may need to pray to be guided to a good hospital and not to places where people die waiting for medical help).

tip: In case they say 'Passa a grana' it means 'Give me the money'. And NEVER react, the bandits are really really cold-blooded.

It's odd that they should add the reverse course while Portuguese for Spanish is still in beta. Is this an omen? :)

Spanish and Portuguese are already established languages in Duolingo, they have to do minimal work (compared to new languages).

Really hoping for PT->FR. That would help me a lot in keeping up with French while retaining my portuguese knowledge. (On exchange in Brazil right now, and learning French in school back home. I have basically forgotten everything about it and will have to continue where I left off when I get back)

Although everytime a new language is added it is very good news, I really wish some more of the languages that have been translated from english to any new language (Russian, Turkish, Polish, Dutch, Hungarian, Romaninan) would start to get reverse courses soon as well. With that said, I am also looking forward to the Spanish to language X courses since my goal is to learn as many languages through spanish as possible. Eitherway great job DUO, having a new language coming out every week really gives me something to look forward to, like a surprise that we don't know what we will get!

The good thing is, thanks to the incubator, they can work on as many language courses at once as there are people willing to help. And there are many people willing.
