From my experience we spell it ντοματα, but maybe there are alternate spellings I don't know about.

You are correct. It has been reported. '' τομάτα'' is also found in the dictionaries but ντομάτα is the preferred word.

You're right; however, I always see it as "τομάτες" in the vegetable section of my neighbourhood supermarket :)

Thanks for that. It seems our veg. sections are in sync. :-)

It's ντομάτες at the markets I've been to. Must be some regional differences...

"Ντομάτα" is actually the more common spelling everywhere.

The word I learned (years ago) was ντοματα, I've never seen it spelled any other way, perhaps this is a new more modern spelling that has become popular?

Yes, the preferred spelling is "ντομάτα" and that's how it will be in the new tree.

Her pronunciation of the second syllable of Αυτοί sounds like "ay," not "ee," to my ears. Confusing, and not the only such instance. It would be great if you could add another reader or two.

Where was that? It's ok on the web (Duolingo gets the TTS audio from another company, so it's up to them).
