In Biblical Hebrew, the word for "forget" is נשה, as appears in the Thirteen Attributes (נשה עבון ופשה...) or in the name of Joseph's first-born son מנשה ("God has made me forget my affliction"). Has this word been supplanted by שכח in Modern Hebrew?

I. The thirteen attributes use נשׂא which is a different word.

II. The root שכח is biblical as well. We find it by Joseph when the minister of drink forgets about him - וישכחהו.

Thanks. So many words "to forget", one word "to remember". :-)

That is a common abbreviation in English.

doesn't is a common conjunction in English. It has the same use as wasn't for was not or didn't for did not.
