"¿Sería inapropiado pedirle a mi profesor una cita?". Tutor can be tutor, profesor, maestro, among others.

Apropiado in Spanish has a connotation of adequate than correct, therefore it is not normally used to express "correctness", though it may well be so.

Correcto is slightly more exact, because to apropiado the answer could be "yes" because you're cute, although to correcto, the answer would be "Not" because you're underage.
