I put A kutya nem a haloszobaba megy be. (Word bank - early lesson.) Is that wrong, or it is just that the emphasis in my answer is on the bedroom and it's "supposed"' to be on the verb?

When is it bemegy and megy be , I'm still totally confused what the difference is

And why "be" is required here and not so much in other examples?

Without seeing the other examples you refer to... here, the emphasis is on the dog not entering the bedroom. It is a slight difference, more of an emphasis thing.

does not go to the bedroom - nem megy a hálószobába
does not enter (or go into) the bedroom - nem megy be a hálószobába
