Spanish helped again...

I came upon my friend (english speaker) trying to ask another woman (spanish speaker) which lines she wanted to buy for during the bingo game (they call them 2 ball, 6 ball etc). I saw that the spanish speaking woman had no clue what the other woman was trying to ask, so I stepped in and said:

ella quiere saber cuales numeros te quieres jugar

apparently it was correct enough because the lady smiled and said:

Tres y Cinco, gracias.

I told the english speaker 3 and 5 and everyone was happy after that, lol.

Thanks DL

Spaniards would be most of the time willing to speak with you in spanish, we love people who try hard and learn spanish. Don't be shy and next time you see someone "suspicious" of being spaniard, go ahead and ask anything

Lol, I will keep that in mind. I am in New York City so we have spanish speakers from every country under the sun. In the area by my job it's mostly Mexican, Dominican, and Puerto Rican. I have a few friends that are Peruvian and Colombian as well. No offense to anyone but I try to stay away from Dominican and Puerto Rican spanish, and stick with the others, LOL.

That's great. I haven't had the opportunity to use what I've learned out in the world yet. I hope to soon.

Buena suerte. It's fun once you try it. I have a problem sometimes, where I say something, and since I pronounce very well, my spanish sounds way better than it really is, and I get hit back with a slew of words I don't understand, because the other person thinks I speak spanish fluently, lol. Then I usually say, in spanish, that I am just learning and to go easy on me, lol.

Great! I was able to speak in Spanish today to my co-worker who is a native Spanish speaker. She helps me a lot but I was able to tell her what I wanted without help from her. Fun!
