  • Academia Cervena, who did some great YouTube videos on the Swedish language and who also contributed to this course, created a playlist of Swedish music: “A compilation of various artists singing in Swedish. I've tried to create a wide assortment of artists, genres and time periods. If you're looking for Swedish-language music, this list is a good place to start!“
  • Have a look at SVT Play, the video on demand platform of Sveriges Television. You can find some interesting stuff there, even with subtitles.
  • If you have access to Netflix, you can search for series and movies with Swedish audio. For example, Bron is a great Swedish/Danish TV show.
  • If you want to practice your listening comprehension, you can have a look at Klartext, a news programme in simple Swedish by Sveriges Radio. There are also articles for some of the stories, so you can compare what you hear and what you read.

I like watching Äkta Människor - real humans (I think there's an English version of the show as well). It's a sci-fi show.

Also, klartext podcast is great for listening to when out for walks (news is read slowly in Swedish).

One of my all time favourite shows. I was livid to discover that the series wasn't renewed after that cliffhanger, though. If you watch it (which you should), don't watch the last five seconds of the last episode.

Check out my reply below and it may give some closure for you. I'm hoping it'll go that way anyway! I need to know what happens too

Yessss. I watched the English version - Humans, then ÄM, then Humans again. Humans was actually written by the same Swedish writer as ÄM, so there's some similarities but also differences. Unfortunately ÄM wasn't popular enough in its time to create a second season, so it kinda just leaves you on a cliffhanger. The trailer for Humans season 2 (coming out this month) seems very similar to what ÄM was missing, so I'm quite excited to see where it goes

Olle Ljungström is a good artist to listen to. He sings quite clearly, and his lyrics aren't overly complicated. Mainstream pop is quite helpful too, for the same reasons (try Veronica Maggio, or Thomas Stenström).

Falconer, one of my favorite bands, has a song in Swedish on every album and one album (Armod) that's entirely in Swedish.
