When to use "Boa", "Bom", "Bem"?
I've been learning Portuguese for a while now and I've been pretty confused between Boa, Bom and Bem. How and when to use them? Can someone please help me on this? Thanks in advance!
I'm still learning Portuguese but I believe that 'bom' means 'good', is an adjective and is used with masculine nouns, e.g., 'Você é um bom homem'-'You are a good man'; 'boa' means 'good' as well but it is used with feminine nouns, e.g., 'Ela é uma boa pessoa'-'She's a good person.' 'Bem', however, is an adverb so it describes actions, e.g., 'Você fez isso muito bem'-'You did it very well.'.
I hope this is helpful :).
I'm a native Portuguese speaker and can confirm that what you said is true!
Muito obrigado! Eu sempre prefiro quando um nativo possa confirmar o que eu digo :).
