"It is a recent book."
Translation:Het is een recent boek.
Is there any reason why DL doesn't like contractions in their translation in Dutch? I occasionally try to write the translation like " 't Is een recent boek" so I can practice that construction as well (I see that written all the time in Dutch) but it gets dinged wrong.
Contractions like that are very informal and generally should be avoided. You may find them in informal settings online or when replicating something that someone said. To some extent you can compare it to things like u, gonna, wanna etc. in English.
