Friends and Duolingo
I got two friends to sign up for duolingo with me. I'm super excited about it, because I think we will keep each other motivated. One is a native speaker and I kind of say she is cheating because of that (just teasing her), but she is trying two other languages as well. This will be fun as two of us (and hopefully soon the third) try our hands at French although neither of us has any background in it. Soon maybe we will be able to have a short conversation with each other in a language neither of us previously knew.
Have many of you guys joined duolingo with people you knew before you got on the site?
I signed up after I read an article about this so I knew nobody here at first
I've managed to get two sisters, my mum and my boyfriend on Duolingo. Although I don't think my mum grasped the concept of it on her phone, as she hasn't used it since I told her how the lessons work, she just blinked during the first lesson of basics #1 in Spanish. Ah well, they'll find a use for Duo one day hopefully, especially as we'll be visiting Holland in June, and my parents are planning to go away on a weekend to Spain in Autumn.
My mom isn't very good with technology. So although she probably needs to learn Spanish for her job, she will never understand the app. Your parents vacation will probably get your mom motivated to try again when she is a little closer to the time of the trip.
Haha, nice! I wish I could get my friends to join too! The best I could do was get my family members to work on Spanish. :/
I'm going to try inviting my friends. I hope you will get more people to learn with you on DuoLingo! :D
